Sam Pellettieri
Chief Investment Officer, Wellington West Capital Inc.¹
As Chief Investment Officer, Sam is fully responsible for developing, implementing and guiding the overall investment philosophy and thought leadership of the asset management division of Wellington West.
With a background in quantitative portfolio management, Sam is leading the augmentation of Wellington West’s current separate account offerings. Working closely with advisors, Sam’s team is responsible for introducing new client solutions, including multi-manager wrap accounts, fund of funds and other leading-edge investment products.
Sam provides a depth of expertise in the field of behavioural finance and the advances in portfolio optimization and construction. He is active in helping Wellington West advisors and their clients to develop forward-thinking portfolio solutions.
Prior to joining Wellington West in 2007, Sam was a founder, principal and portfolio manager at Tetrem Capital Management, an investment management firm that manages over $8 billion in equity assets for retail and institutional clients. Sam also worked at Assante Asset Management Ltd., where he was Director, Quantitative Research. In this role, he led a team of investment professionals who developed and implemented quantitative models for security selection, asset allocation, risk management, portfolio construction and performance attribution. Sam began his career at Assante as a corporate/government fixed-income analyst, managing North American fixed-income portfolios.
Sam holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Manitoba, where he majored in Finance and minored in Mathematics. He holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
